DC Manager Georgia

The Bitfury Group is a technology company with offices in the US, Europe and Asia. We develop and deliver both the software and the hardware solutions necessary for businesses, governments, organisations and individuals to securely move an asset across the Blockchain.

The job is based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Overseeing active work sites
  • Supervises teams of employees in facilities that contain large amounts of computer hardware, including servers and networking appliances.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance tasks such as managing and installing custom upgrades for customers; replacing cables, components and accessories; maintaining records and drawing schematics of the center to detail equipment is installed.
  • Customer support responsibilities might include escorting customers through the center on tours, responding to customer inquiries and coordinating with other organizations.
  • Administrative duties might include scheduling employee shifts, planning for capacity changes, maintaining corporate databases and ensuring compliance with government regulations.
  • Completion of interviews of prospective employees
  • Completing disciplinary actions
  • Perform reviews, & Key Performance Indicators (KPI) setting improvement goals with target dates
  • Leads multiple, diverse teams, helping to establish and execute business plans. Ensures work is integrated across teams and that the work produced meets/exceeds product/service standards and quality standards.
  • Work with his/her teams and key stakeholders to ensure that, realizes value in its performance of key processes that support business objectives, provide best-in-class service to our clients, realize operating efficiencies, while maintaining compliance.
  • Leads process re-engineering within Operations, optimizes the support model, vendor management, internal controls and audit activities related to these areas.
  • Maintain Full Power and max performance to all air-cooled miners and immersion cooling technology DataTanks, unless curtailed for economic reasons
  • Maintain maximum Hashrate per mining equipment type
  • Ensure mining equipment is properly maintained
  • Assigning Tasks via Jira system
  • Oversee use of Web TMA by all Operations team
  • Scheduling and monitoring repair/renovation work
  • Triggering Incident Reports with DC staff
  • Compiling Investigation Reports
  • Provide regular reports of DC Operations, including all assets & personnel
  • Ensure sufficient stock of spare parts at all sites
  • Drive economical decisions on site
  • Interact on a two-way basis with Global departments
  • Facilitate site information meetings
  • Transfer of information to and from Corporate Office
  • Assist and encourage personnel training
  • Encourage advancement of personnel
  • Employee satisfaction, reduce turnover,
  • Maintain high discipline at site
  • Develop succession/back up plans of all key personnel
  • Participate in Social Events – 1 per quarter
  • This role is an escalation point of contact for internal and external partners liaising with this area and provides leadership over all activities within them.
  • Create a high-performance environment through engaged employees and a focused performance management approach.
  • Responsible for resource allocation in order to meet SLA’s. (SLA’s to be established)
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and service partners.
  • Participate in the execution of project plans in support of enhancing our core capabilities and realizing operational efficiencies.

Safety

  • Ensure that safe work conditions exist for all employees
  • Completion of New Hire, Sub-contractor & Visitor Orientations
  • Confirm that all safety procedures are observed
  • Check that all relevant PPE is being correctly worn and used by all disciplines
  • Participate in Safety Meetings – 1 per month
  • Proactive & encourage all staff to report Hazards & Near Misses
  • Site Observation Tours (SOT) – 1 per month
  • Creation of Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Operation Procedures (EOP). Contributes to the review and further development of overall policies and procedures within the Operations team.
  • Oversee Investigations of Incidents, Hazards & Near Misses

Skills and Experience:

  • Flexible approach to regular business travel as needed
  • Irregular work hours
  • Able to pass Drug & Alcohol screen
  • Fluent in English and preferably Russian and Georgian languages
  • Leadership and Management skills with direct experience of Datacenter Operations
  • Customer liaison skills, including handling of escalations
  • Supplier Management skills including escalation handling
  • Minimal 3 years’ experience in work with people and in IT field
  • Knowledge of process lean and automation technologies
  • Able to influence change across organizations through continual process improvement
  • Sound knowledge of setting and driving improvements through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ability to drive change
  • Working understanding of Microsoft products including Excel/Word/Power-point, good experience working with internet
  • University degree in IT, business management, economics, mathematics, technology, engineering or similar
  • Self-motivated leader able to cope with diverse and complex situations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a crisis situations and make decisions instantly, and/or escalate as appropriate
  • Ability to build and strongly motivate teams and keep cross-departmental business relationships both local and across multiple countries
  • Works with other departments in an effective manner to ultimately deliver on process and systems improvements. Escalates problems/concerns where appropriate.
  • Able to work on a “day to day basis” whilst still working to plans and longer term improvements.
  • Promotes new ideas, encourages openness about new concepts
  • Maintains awareness of new technology
  • Results orientation with attention to detail regarding the numbers – needs to be able to understand, articulate and react to what the performance metrics are telling him/her
  • Identifies ways to improve efficiency and results
  • Anticipates and analyses problems clearly and determines appropriate solution or alternatives
  • Prioritizes and accepts responsibility for decisions and results
