The business is the largest real estate developer in Africa today (building new cities on a land portfolio of 30,000 acres (12,000 hectares) in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, and Democratic Republic of the Congo), founded by a former major investor in the Russian economy, and is seeking a talented Head of Marketing and Communications to be based in their office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Responsibilities:
The Group Head of Marketing & Communications is a senior, strategic position with overall responsibility for the conception and execution of sales-focused campaigns, collateral, communication, events, digital and research, as well as corporate positioning of the company globally. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of the Group, the Head of Marketing & Communications manages teams in Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana with marketing, communications, digital and design personnel. The Head of Marketing & Communications is assured of an exciting career with a transformational, multi-decade new city builder in the fastest urbanising continent in history.
• Conception and execution of marketing strategies to achieve sales targets across all land uses (residential, industrial, commercial, retail, light industrial and other bulk sales).
• Hands-on management of multi-geography marketing teams.
• Generation, analysis, and management of leads from marketing channels, as well as converting leads to sales in conjunction with sales team.
• Projection of the company and its city brands and messaging strongly and consistently across all channels and marketing activities, locally and globally.
• Conception and execution of multi-stakeholder events (public, client, media, government).
• Conception and execution of multi-channel corporate and marketing communication strategies (newsletters, press releases, media coverage, etc.).
• Conception and execution of digital marketing strategy.
• Production of video and photography.
• Analysis of consumer behaviour and customer personas.
• New product development, in conduction with Heads of Sales and senior management teams.
• Management of all branding materials and marketing collateral.
• Market and competitive analyses (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features).
• Planning and execution of CSR strategy as member of CSR Committee.
• Media relations and crisis communications.
• Department budgeting.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required
• Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field from a reputable university.
• At least 12 years’ experience in data-driven consumer marketing, communications, and branding or closely related roles.
• Detailed research, analytical and communication skills are a requirement.
• Strong ability in planning, branding, design, and digital communications.
• Knowledge of multi-channel marketing/communication processes.
• Experience in real estate or construction industry highly desirable.
