Our client – a large international Oil and Gas company is looking for Senior Geologist.
Responsibilities:
- To perform reservoir characterization studies in clastic and carbonate reservoirs;
- To provide seismic interpretation, well-tie and velocity modelling and structural analysis;
- To integrate results of sedimentological studies, core description and conventional core and analysis;
- To provide stratigraphic correlations;
- Interpretation of logs and its validation using core data;
- To perform subsurface mapping and conceptual geological modelling using sequence stratigraphy and facies characterization techniques and create and update static models;
- To define and provide support for specialized / advanced geological studies, evaluate results and integrate to the static models;
- To perform formation evaluation studies by integrating all available information using logs, borehole image log, core data and any other supplemental information;
- To perform exploration and development well placement;
- To define and prepare scope of work and provide technical support for geological data acquisition program including logs, core, mud logging and other data for exploration and development wells;
- Resource and reserves estimation utilizing Russia’s and International standards including probabilistic approach and new assets evaluation;
- Provide support and mentoring to junior staff.
Requirements:
- Higher Education: Master of Science Degree in Geology / Geosciences;
- Solid background in Exploration and Development Geology and Reservoir Characterization;
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in reservoir modelling, integrating seismic, log and core data with statistical analysis, seismic interpretation (stratigraphic well tie, velocity modelling, structural interpretation) is essential;
- Experience in oil and gas reservoir characterization or development, reserves estimates, core description, petrography, or petrophysics is an advantage;
- Candidate should be familiar with common reservoir characterization packages: Petrel, Techlog, IP, ArcGIS, etc.;
- Tact and diplomacy in dealing with partners, licensing authorities, third parties and consultants;
- Entrepreneurial with a strong desire to be successful in developing oil and gas assets;
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, and manage such teams when necessary;
- Fluent English, written and spoken is mandatory;
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
