We are looking for the candidates to Chief Legal Officer position with an asset management company of *** **** based in DIFC.
This pivotal role entails leadership in critical domains:
- Strategic Corporate Architecture: Spearhead the structuring of corporate frameworks, overseeing investment and operational assets across dynamic sectors such as Metallurgy, Sports, ESG, and Trading, with a primary focus on safeguarding shareholder capital.
- International Trading Contracts: Undertake the meticulous drafting of international trading contracts, spanning jurisdictions encompassing the UAE, Europe, and beyond.
- Global Business Structuring: Assume a lead role in the corporate and contractual structuring of business entities in foreign jurisdictions, including but not limited to the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), Indonesia, Singapore, Turkey, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Switzerland, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and the USA.
- Operational Oversight in the UAE: Oversee the operational activities of assets within the UAE, ensuring optimal execution.
- Legal Documentation Expertise: Manage the establishment of bank accounts in foreign jurisdictions, the formation of holding companies, and the meticulous crafting of resolutions, protocols, shareholder agreements, and articles of association for legal entities abroad.
- Tax Structuring and IP Protection: Engage in strategic tax planning within foreign jurisdictions and ensure robust protection of intellectual property rights.

What you bring to the table:
Educational Qualifications:
Possess a higher education degree in corporate law, ideally obtained from esteemed institutions within the Persian Gulf, such as United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, Middlesex University Dubai, University of Wollongong, Heriot-Watt University, BITS Pilani, etc. Candidates equipped with a profound understanding of Sharia Law will be accorded preference.
Professional Experience:
- In-depth UAE Experience: Extensive professional history in the UAE, emphasizing expertise within free economic zones.
- Legal Firm Background: Proven track record at the Senior Consultant, Legal Advisor or Associate level within reputable legal firms, such as Baker & McKenzie, Clifford Chance, White & Case, Allen & Overy, and others.
Competencies and Requirements:
- Global Business Acumen: Demonstrated comprehension of business operations across diverse international landscapes.
- Legal Standards: Proficiency in international legal standards and norms.
- Licensing: Possession of all requisite licenses for the practice of professional activities within the UAE.
Language Proficiency:
- English: Demonstrated proficiency at the C2+ level.
- Arabic: Demonstrated proficiency at the C2+ level.
- Russian: Desirable.
Practical Skills:
- Negotiation and Drafting: Practical experience in the art of negotiation and the drafting of intricate legal documents.
- Analytical Capability: Adept at analyzing complex legal situations.
Personal Attributes:
- Initiative and Responsibility: Demonstrated initiative in the resolution of legal complexities and a steadfast commitment to meeting deadlines with a sense of responsibility.
