Who we are looking for and why:
As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing products so that the company can meet customers’ needs more effectively. You will work as part of a Product team, collaborating with Marketing Communications, Marketing Growth, Sales and Legal departments, coordinate and execute product development activities under the supervision of the Head of Product.
What you will need to do:
Reporting to Head of product, you will execute the following tasks:
- Manage product research - research different products or niches and using various data points determine product idea, validate its purpose, and propose development direction that ensures the final product meets both market and the business requirements.
- Make product updates based on changing business demands. Analyze and troubleshoot product issues in a timely fashion.
- Complete the product development projects within allotted budgets and timelines. Develop process improvements to ensure product quality and productivity. Follow best practices to ensure smooth and continuous product development operations.
- Review and recommend changes to current product development processes.
- Coordinate, prepare and maintain product matrixes, specifications, documentation.
- Collaborate with marketing communications and growth to develop portfolio positioning and product focus that resonate with our target audience.
- Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support core products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
- Participate in planning of new launches of products and releases of existing products and in the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
- Understand and support our sales channels; train sales teams on the problems we solve for our clients; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it. Maintain training materials for new hires.
- Maintain expert knowledge on product development procedures.
- Work with Head of Product in developing product development plan, budget and schedules.
How to know if you're the right fit:
- Proven experience - 3+ years working in and/or managing product development function. Develops detailed product development project plans, understands technical feasibility and project risk, meets cost targets, coordinates resources, and meets time restraints on multiple product development projects.
- Team Orientation & Interpersonal – highly motivated, passionate, and creative team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
- Organization & Time Management – able to work independently with minimal supervision, planning, scheduling and organizing professional schedule to complete actions within established deadlines, handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
- High-level thinking, planning, and hypothesis testing.
- Comfortable working on a team that has a startup approach and working outside of traditional development model with ability to execute against accelerated timelines.
