I-Teco is an IT company, which delivers projects on a national scale, builds IT and telecom infrastructures, consulting and information security.
BSS QA [Network] Engineer:
We are seeking a strong candidate whose primary role will be to work closely with Ai-Teco IT, NTS LLC IT and within the NTS LLC Base Station Software project to identify and resolve computer network connectivity problems and develop and implement computer network connectivity and management solutions for the LTE base station system test bench(es). You will also help to maintain both the software and hardware aspects of our LTE base station system test bench(es) as well as provide extensive non-telecoms protocol test coverage.
You will already have deep knowledge and practical experience of constructing, configuring, managing and maintaining complex computer networks and testing L3/L2 computer networking protocols.
Your manager will be a native English speaker and you will have at least a basic, and preferably competent knowledge of English to converse and understand complex telecommunications specifications and standards.
You will receive LTE protocol and other essential ‘on-the-job’ training, coaching and friendly peer support to assist and guide you in this role.
You will be located either in Moscow or Nizhny Novgorod.
Responsibilities:
- To apply best practises for the timely identification and resolution of computer network connectivity and performance problems affecting the LTE base station system test bench(es).
- To apply best practises for the timely implementation of improvements to the computer network connectivity and performance of the LTE base station system test bench(es), including any network monitoring and management tools.
- To support and educate colleagues and peers (and even other NTS LLC projects) across all sites with deep computer networking knowledge and experience.
Skills:
- To plan, implement and execute additional non-telecoms specific L3/L2 computer networking protocol test coverage of the LTE base station.
- Relevant qualifications, for example, CCNP.
- Relevant knowledge of standards, for example, 802.1q, 802.1p, 100/1000Base-X, SFP+.
- Deep experience of cabling and configuring switches, routers, firewalls, interfaces and routing tables for LANs, VLANs and WANs.
- Deep experience of using measuring devices for testing services over Ethernet according to the ITU-T Y.1564 method.
- Deep experience of working with network emulation software (for example, EVE-NG) to create a test laboratory environment.
- Deep experience of testing L3/L2 computer networking protocols for routing (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MP-BGP), convergence and reliability (BFD, VRRP), multicast (PIM-SM, PIM-DM, Anycast-PIM, MSDP, IGMPv2/v3), security (ACL, CPP, Storm Control), management and maintenance (CLI, Telnet, SSHV2, RADIUS, TACACS+, SNMPv1/V2, ping, traceroute, NTP, Netconf, FTP, TFTP, SFTP, Sync, 1588v2) using Linux.
- Experience of testing UDP, TCP, ICMP, ARP, DNS, NAT, GTP, VPN, VLAN, CPRI, Ethernet, DSCP and SFP/SFP+ protocols.
- Experience of relevant link test tools: for example, ping, netstat, Tshark/Wireshark, Berkut, Anritsu MT1000A, Exfo FTB-x and management systems.
- Demonstrable experience of troubleshooting connectivity and performance problems between systems on different subnets connected via a router.
