As part of this role:
- You will lead Sustainable Impact for Russia and Eastern Europe. Your role will be to ensure our customers in Russia and Eastern Europe can and want to purchase HP products and services because they are safe, legally compliant, responsibly manufactured, and meet or exceed their sustainability expectations.
- A major focus of your role will be to ensure environmental compliance across Russia and Eastern Europe helping HP to track, influence and manage compliance with legislative requirements on topics including WEEE, batteries, packaging, RoHS, REACH, eco design, waste shipment, materials and the circular economy.
- You will help ensure HP product and services are compliant with environmental regulations and legislation in Russia and Eastern Europe, through thorough monitoring, then relaying the relevant requirements to our product development business units. When useful, you will also engage with the regulating entities; and lead advocacy.
- You will cover Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, and also monitor regulations in EAEU, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro.
- Together with our regional team, you will lead the development and delivery of our market sustainable impact plan. You will maintain strong visibility for sustainable impact within HP Russia, develop close relationships with internal teams, you will develop and drive projects to deliver the strategy, and you will provide regular reports to the regional management team.
- You will support our local sales and marketing teams, to ensure they can fully leverage HP’s sustainable impact strengths to demonstrate how we can best meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. You will also support our channel partners in leveraging HP’s sustainable impact strengths.
- You will be HP’s sustainability expert in Russia and Eastern Europe, and as such, provide support to our stakeholders at all levels – internally, including senior management, and externally – including media and our top customers.
- More broadly, you will develop a deep understanding of the environmental and sustainability needs of customers in Russia and Eastern Europe and convey these insights to HP decision makers as appropriate.
- You will also have responsibility for the co-ordination of compliance reporting and the analysis of compliance trends across our EMEA Markets – using your organizational and data analysis skills to manage regulatory tracking services, develop and maintain tracking tools, and analyse and present trends data and other insights.
- Finally, you will support HP’s local sustainable impact initiatives, to make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.
To succeed in your mission, you will work closely with the rest of the Sustainable Impact organization (our EMEA team, our regional and global domain experts, etc.), as well as the Russia and Eastern Europe country teams (business, sales, marketing, legal, government relations, communications, etc.), and external partners including trade associations.
You will be based in HP’s Moscow office, combined with the opportunity to work from home part time, and from time to time you will be required to travel for customer visits and compliance meetings, as well as some international travel for team meetings and events.
Requirements and essential skills:
- Passion for sustainability and drive to make a positive difference.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with a significant sustainability or environmental policy focus (eg Geography, Environmental Policy, Environmental Management, Environmental and Business, Environmental Law or equivalent.)
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience, preferably in sustainability, business or project management.
- Knowledge and experience of understanding environmental policy requirements and/or managing environmental compliance
- Strong quality orientation. Rigor and attention to details. Ability to understand compliance requirements and develop solutions.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including being comfortable with presenting to customers, speaking to policy makers, and engaging with senior management.
- Authentic customer service orientation combined with solid business acumen.
- Enthusiasm, ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Strong problem-solving skills. Capacity to see “the big picture” in complex, fluid situations, then prioritize and take action with calm and efficiency, working at a fast pace in a flexible manner.
- Strong team-working skills.
- Ability to work with minimal direct day-to-day supervision.
- Fluent Russian and English
Desirable Experience:
- managing sustainability in a company.
- Interest in or experience of working in a sales, compliance or policy making environment.
- Advocacy / influencing skills – rallying support from internal and external stakeholders to deliver on our objectives
- Capacity to think strategically to develop new ideas and a strong plan; and the leadership, negotiation and influencing skills to rally support from internal and external stakeholders to deliver on our objectives.
- Data analysis skills including experience with data architecture, databases, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
