What you'll do
You will triage risk requests, support knowledge management initiatives, help facilitate and resolve risk cases, and contribute to special projects and risk initiatives.
In this role, you will be responsible for triaging requests for risk advice to appropriate colleague based on geography and risk topics and compiling input needed to resolve risk matters while working closely with those leading on the case. You will leverage and add information to our case management system that enables the function to monitor and improve risk compliance while proactively following up on risk decisions and looping in relevant colleagues.
You will coordinate knowledge management and risk awareness initiatives, including collaborating on strategy development and execution and coordinating development of regional compacts and risk assessments. You will organize stakeholders and supporting policy reviews and draft communications to firm leaders about risk cases and trends, including regular reporting (e.g. monthly risk updates, regular risk trackers). Additionally you will assist, and in some instances leading, special projects and initiatives related to team operations and high risk areas.

You will be based in our Moscow office as a member of our growing community of Risk colleagues.
This role is part of McKinsey’s risk function, whose mission is to enable McKinsey’s client impact and innovation while managing risks to the firm, our clients, and our people. Specifically, you will work as part of the firm’s global Client Service Risk function (the Client Service Risk team), which advises McKinsey’s partners and the Client Service Risk Committee (CSRC a committee of respected senior partners supported by firm functions professionals that advises on the most complex risks) on how the firm can best serve its clients throughout and publish its knowledge, while managing the risks involved.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- 5 years of professional experience involving research and drafting skills, ideally in consulting or professional services, legal, compliance or risk management
- Knowledge of Russian/CIS business and legal environment, experience of conducting due diligence checks or legal research/advisory is a plus
- Interest and/or experience in risk, compliance and professional standards issues
- Strong organizational and database management skills
- Track record of positivity, diplomacy, with excellent judgment and good instincts in a professional environment
- Demonstrated collaborative attitude and ability to work across all levels within an organization
- Self motivated and entrepreneurial, with a track record as self starter
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Outstanding English written and oral communication skills
