Aramco Research Center – Moscow is offering great job opportunities for researchers with multidisciplinary background in production technology, reservoir engineering, fluid mechanics or applied physics and experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques. The position combines the roles of a researcher and a data scientist and requires to be very flexible and innovative to handle multi-disciplinary problems. It fills the niche in the development of novel digital technologies for an oilfield, which are focused on the intensive application of artificial intelligence and data analytics.
Key functions and responsibilities:
- Develop data-driven, physics based or hybrid models for hydrocarbon exploration and production;
- Inverse problem solution with significant data uncertainty;
- Time-series analysis and forecasting;
- Application of an optimal control theory and optimization;
- Identify and implement algorithms and methods for continuous improvement of digital and software solutions for production monitoring systems to meet requirements and specifications;
- Data analysis and processing from different fields;
- Ensure seamless transfer and integration of developed technology in real-time production monitoring platform at end-user location;
- Cooperate with customers, field and petroleum specialists for adding new functionality and options in the developed product;
- Summarize research activities in formats suitable for publication as a technical memorandum, article or for patent application.
- Presenting scientific results at the professional conferences;
- Follow company requirements for processes, documentation and reporting
Key technical skills and competencies:
- Understanding of upstream oil and gas processes, well production technologies and reservoir engineering.
- Depth of knowledge and experience with Python and its data analytics and machine learning libraries and packages (e.g. scikit-learn, Pandas, TensorFlow,etc). Ability to write robust code in Python;
- Experience with mathematical modelling and data processing. Implementation of the model equations, C/C++ code, MATLAB scripts or other associated tools;
- Hand-on experience in data analysis, cleaning, filtering, handling and operation with large quantities of structured and unstructured inputs;
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience for data analytics and ML solution deployment through TIBCO Spotfire or other data analytics
- Experience in development of supervised machine learning algorithms for multivariate time-series prediction and forecasting;
- General knowledge on production monitoring and multiphase metering is a plus.
- Experience in developing, validation and implementation of machine learning models for anomaly detection, automated recommendation and advisory is a plus
