Qualifications- University or master’s degree in economics or finance with a high GPA
- 2-3 years of experience in analytical or research work in the banking and insurance sectors
- Deep knowledge of banking and insurance markets in Russia and other CIS states including comprehensive knowledge of banking and insurance financial reporting, products, trends and drivers across key segments
- Knowledge of Basel 3 requirements in banking is a plus
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong IT skills including a high level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent knowledge and proficiency in English and Russian
You will join our Russia/CIS geographic knowledge team based in Moscow as part of our global Client Capabilities Network.
You will work with over 3,000 knowledge professionals, McKinsey consulting teams and clients across the globe to generate distinctive insights and proprietary knowledge and create foundation for sound recommendations for client and internal projects in banking and finance sectors. You will interact with our consultants and clients by collecting, summarizing, analyzing and synthesizing information that helps solve specific business problems in banking & finance industries in Russia and other CIS markets.
What You'll Do
You will perform a wide range of research tasks on banking and finance topics from collecting market statistics to market modeling and developing perspectives that are relevant to clients.
In this role, you will research and analyze technical and economic issues such as market dynamics, competitive intensity and company trends. You will respond to short-term requests and be involved in projects for longer periods, occasionally at the client site.
You will provide guidance and leadership to teams on analytics and build client capabilities. You will pull in the latest firm developments in banking and finance and client service to advance the state of the current practice. Lastly, you will challenge your colleagues' mindsets about what is possible and how things are done and also actively participate in building a strategy on knowledge and capability development.
