WHAT TO EXPECT

While the majority of time the job is office based, it is expected that 50% of time will be spent offsite visiting, distribution partners, customers, technical contacts and other Gates sites. This will require working within a range of industrial environments. Provide technical support to both external and internal customers on Gates' industrial power transmission products and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete drive system designs and calculations using Gates' design tools.
Transfer opportunity requirements into internal programs for drive design, analysis and testing
Visit customer sites for surveys, technical discussions and reviews
Supports District Sales Managers in the technical process of identifying and securing new opportunities.
Project management of projects for all Gates products, (Power Transmission and Fluid Power).
Introduce new product technology and promote Gates' strategic sales initiatives to customers by preparing training materials and undertaking both remote and in person training sessions.
Perform special projects and tasks and assigned
Develop and maintain good communications with customers and distribution partners and internal colleagues
Coordinate with sales team to ensure that CRM tool is updated

SKILLS:

Experience of PT products is essential.
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite and other ERP systems, such as Oracle is desired.
CAD experience is preferable.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both inside and outside the organisation.
Ability to plan and organise work in order to achieve goals and meet timeline requirements.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Technical degree preferably in mechanical engineering.
Five years of progressive engineering experience.
Three years customer / end user facing
