The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Junior Associate to join our Dispute Resolution team for participation in projects related to resolution of customs disputes.

We provide the following services to our clients in customs dispute resolution:

• Support during desk and field customs audits;
• Drafting objections (disagreements) to customs audits’ acts (reports) and other documents (actions) issued (performed) by the customs authorities;
• Support in communication with the customs authorities;
• Pre-trial support in appealing customs authorities’ decisions / actions / inactions with the Russian Federal Customs Service;
• Litigation support at the Russian arbitrazh courts in resolution of customs disputes;
• Legal consulting on various customs issues.

The Role:

• Work as a part of an experienced and high-profiled team;
• Demonstrate efficient teamwork;
• Draft procedural documents and legal consultations;
• Calculate amounts of customs duties and other related amounts;
• Prepare marketing materials;
• Make legislation and court practice researches on a wide range of customs issues;
• Participation in court hearings supporting senior colleagues.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• University degree in law (bachelor’s degree as a must, continuation of education in magister program is a must);
• 1-2 years of legal consulting experience and/or in-house legal practice in customs or tax litigation sphere (experience in customs sphere is an advantage);
• Motivation to blossom out in customs disputes;
• Excellent technical knowledge of Russian customs, tax, civil, procedural (especially arbitrazh) law;
• Working knowledge of the English language: both oral and written;
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work in a team, meet challenges and deliver outstanding results;
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously being under time pressure;
• Career-and success-oriented.
