About the Role

The Corporate Relations (CR) team’s role is to protect and promote Diageo’s reputation and licence to operate, in service of becoming the most trusted and respected consumer goods company. This role of Corporate relations manager Russia works alongside the Eastern Europe market CR Team, the market and Russia GM and other internal stakeholders on all pillars of CR activity across Russia. This will include:

• Operationalising and executing the Eastern Europe CR Strategy in Russia, both as a complex local operating environment and as part of the Eastern Europe market
• Support across the 3 CR pillars (Government, Society and Communications), working flexibly to support Diageo business in Russia
• Deliver policy engagement programms for Russia, while presenting the Managing Director, Eastern Europe and General Manager Russia with engagement opportunities. This includes representing Diageo on all industry fora, internal and external events

Stakeholders:

• Internal – CR colleagues in other countries, the above market CR team, the MD of Easter Europe and their LT, members of the global brand teams
• External – Industry, media, NGOs and government

Top Accountabilities

• The role will need to develop an excellent knowledge and understanding of Diageo Russia, of Eastern Europe and of Diageo Russia business strategy and goals, brands, innovations, policies and practices and the ability to work well across the complex matrix of distributor network
• The role has an Diageo Russia remit requiring interaction with a range of functions and countries - the role will collaborate and respond directly to specific project needs
• The role will manage relationships and reputation with Government, identifying and campaigning on O&R across the geography including tax and regulation.
• The role will manage relationships with Trade Associations and ensure that the TA strategy mirrors our own.
• The role will lead on Diageo’s 2030 Society ambition, rolling out the global framework and targets.
• The role will work closely with the Eastern Europe communications manager on internal and external communications for the geography, delivering against our reputation pillar and supporting the MD.

About You

• 3+ years of relevant CR experience (preferably GR and CSR within a global company)
• Exceptional ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect
• Successful management of senior stakeholders at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes. Able to build strong relationships with broad spectrum of seniorities, and align stakeholders through from idea to implementation
• A track record of creating developing and executing against CR objectives, with strong core functional standards and skills. Outstanding writing and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at different levels and the capability and confidence to provide direction, coaching and support to others
• Commercial delivery. Has strong commercial awareness and experience of working in a highly commercial environment. Good understanding of Diageo’s commercial drivers, industry value chain, and alcohol & health landscape. Ability to search, extract, analyse and present data and insights
• Managing complexity. Demonstrated track record of managing effectively an ambitious agenda of multiple projects and multiple stakeholders
• Being able to excel when dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and matrixed environment
• Deep personal accountability for great performance
• Experience working across multiple countries/geographies/cultures
