What we do
Our Indirect Tax group professionals help clients lower their costs and maximize value by effectively dealing with value added tax and excises. We provide ongoing support with current indirect tax issues, we diagnose and improve existing VAT and excise rules and procedures, and we assist in resolving disputes with tax authorities. Moreover, we actively participate in development of current indirect tax legislation.
Responsibilities
You may be involved in:
- Providing strategic and ad-hoc advice on application of domestic/international VAT and excise regulations
- Diagnosis and improvement of existing methodology on VAT and excise tax accounting
- Data analysis and modeling to help clients understand the implications of different tax solutions
- Supporting clients with preparation of VAT refunds
- Assistance in litigation regarding indirect tax issues
- Participation in developing Indirect tax practice within KPMG
- Contribution to the development of current indirect tax legislation
- Marketing activities including preparation of presentations, proposals, preparations to seminars, etc.;
- Administrative functions.
To fill the role the candidate is expected to meet the following requirements:
- Higher education degree (law, taxation, economics, finance, accounting)
- At least 2 years of experience in tax/legal consulting in reputable Russian or international companies
- Extensive Tax knowledge, in particular VAT knowledge
- Excellent analytical skills
- Fluent Russian and upper-intermediate English to work with project documentation;
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent team player
