About the role
The job purpose of the Stock Controller’s role is to manage with the Material requisitioning, physical receipt of goods, inspection, storage and accounting for inventory stock in both the Main Warehouse and Lay down Yards.
Location Democratic Republic of the Congo
Key Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in Warehouse and Supply management of which at least 2 years were in a Warehouse setup and development role in a remote Mining environment
- Extensive knowledge of storing and handling of various hazardous chemicals
Qualification Competencies
- Knowledge of warehouse processes and inventory management
- Computer literate in MS Office
- B.Com or Business management qualification would be advantageous
- Warehouse Management Systems

Responsibilities
· Conducts daily cycle counts of inventory based upon computer-monitored suggested re-ordering listing:
· Organises and maintains warehouse and inventory yard areas for efficient material storage and handling: Maintains labelling system / bar coding on each stock item
· Manually stocks inventory shelving with stock items received or returned
· Issues supplies, materials to the end users by means of manually pre-pick stock items from Multi –Level Racking
· Completes all necessary paperwork for stock items issued and forwards to the warehouse supervisor
· Receives delivered supplies, materials and equipment, confirms that delivered goods match purchase order specifications of quantity, condition, model number, etc.
· Utilizes mainframe computer terminal to properly account for issues, returns, receipts of new materials and associated back orders: Inputs essential data on all materials handled. Adheres to strict accounting procedures in this regard
· Operates forklift and any other necessary vehicles and equipment to properly handle materials being received, issued, stocked and picked
· Keeps back order file in established sequence and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available
· Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock
· Following proper stores and inventory control procedures
· Following safe procedures for the proper storage and handling of hazardous goods and materials according to the Company’s Environmental Health & Safety regulations
· Ensuring that stock records are accurate and up-to-date · Segregating materials for recycling and proper disposal
· Reporting any pilferage or theft immediately to immediate supervisor
· Other duties as directed
· Participate in Company procedures to ensure a safe working environment, personal safety and safety of others
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of a safe workplace and environment at all times ensuring conformance to Company policies and guidelines
· Where possible ensure that the storage and handling of hazardous products stored as inventory conform to company environmental policies / procedures and comply with the relative DRC standards
· Verification that physical quantities and company specifications for issues and receipts conform to the documentation provided and to the specification required
· Ensure that all cycle counts and inventory control activities are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner
· Provide other services as directed by the warehouse supervisor from time to time to ensure optimum service to Company's end users
