NovaKid invites a Chief Technical Officer to join our team at Novakidschool.com, the #1 online English school for kids in Europe. Our customers come from more than 30 countries all over the world. We have 55K+ students and 2K+ teachers. Our international team is proud of 280+ developers / support managers and marketing gurus. Novakid is showing 5x annual growth.
Requirements:
-
Track record of achievements as CTO or in similar leadership role;
-
Strong technical background: Software developer, system architect, team lead (frontend, backend, mobile, PC client, and so on);
-
Fluent spoken and written English at least C1;
-
Experience in coaching, tuning and tracking performance of agile teams and team leads
-
Track record in successful hiring, firing underperformers, retaining and developing talent
-
Track record in planning architecture updates to match growing business scale
-
Strong knowledge of Linux-based technical stack: AWS (or similar), Linux / Python / PostgreSQL / RabbitMQ or similar;
-
Working knowledge of software development techniques and processes.

M.Sc degree in IT, mathematics, or other natural sciences;
Responsibilities:

Be a proactive and highly autonomous team player, with drive to succeed as part of the fast-growing company.

Develop top-notch Novakid engineering talent. Hire and mentor team leads, assist with hiring engineers and assessing performance of new hires

Implement & operate processes to consistently measure and improve software development speed & quality

Supervise system architecture to ensure stability, scalability and extensibility

Initiate / execute R&D projects to apply new technologies that yield a competitive advantage

Manage supporting teams: QA, DevOps, Data security

Communicate team performance & technology strategy to internal stake-holders and investors
