Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience of which five years should have been in a supervisory position within the Mining Geology discipline at a Operating Mine. Prior experience with structurally controlled gold deposits. Prior experience of narrow geometry gold deposits ideally with exposure in West Africa
- English and Russian Proficiency, knowledge of French an advantage
- Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Geology or closely related field
- Ability to collaborate and provide guidance to multiple diverse teams of Geologists located within Nordgolds International operations portfolio
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines in support of meeting company goals
- Confident in interacting with and reporting to Mineral Resource Director and COO
- Establish a close working relationship with cross-functional disciplines to ensure seamless collaboration and information sharing
- Ability to integrate and adapt to a varying work environments in consideration multi-cultural setting of various mining operations (CIS and WA)
- Proven ability in written and verbal communication (in Russian and English), critical thinking, data analysis, problem solving, and time management
- Ability to set clear objectives and goals, monitor progress, measure performance, and evaluate results
- Experience as a team builder who empowers others and provides guidance, who is open to feedback and constantly strives to improve
- Ability to take ownership of and be accountable for mine geology outcomes
Responsibilities:
Management of the Mine Geology activities across the group and all aspects of the Grade Control quality process:
- Provide mentorship/leadership for Mine Geologists across the Company, and coordinate and report on all of its activities
- High-level oversight of contractor and consultant management across the Company’s mines
- Provide comprehensive geological input (e.g. orebody geometry and grade and tonnage potential) into strategic and short-term mine planning and forecasting
- Oversee and monitor Grade Control process (drilling, modeling, ore delineation and dilution control) in context of mine to mill reconciliation programs across the Company’s mines
- Ensure the integrity and validity of all data used in Grade Control process by following and continuously improving established QA/QC protocols
- Facilitate monthly and quarterly reports on Reconciliation and Grade Control performance to the Head of Resource Geology / Mineral Resource Director timeously
- Close collaboration with Mining Engineering and Production departments to optimize integration of Grade Control data into Mine Plans and Forecasts
- Attend weekly production meetings with mine sites and provide geology input/guidance required for in-pit / UG Mining activities
- Provide leadership to ensure that all activities of the Mine Geology across the group are consistent with all Environmental, Health, and Safety practices
