ABOUT THE JOB »
We are recruiting to fill Systems Operator roles within our expanding Football department in Russia. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sports technology as part of a young and dynamic team. The role involves the setup and operation of our video assistant referee (VAR) system at the Replay Centre in Moscow for Russian Premier League matches and at on-site locations both across Russia and in Europe for other Hawk-Eye services. We will equip you with the technical training, support and full exposure to our systems to perform your day to day tasks but also encourage development and progression to help make an impact on what we do.
RESPONSIBILITIES »
- Setting up the video review system technology
- Conducting pre-match checks of the systems in accordance with standard procedures
- Liaising with football officials, stadium/club personnel, match officials and host broadcasters both on-site and remotely
- Monitoring and operating the system during the match
- Work with match officials, responding to their requests for replays and quickly delivering them the best possible angles to make crucial decisions
- Analyzing software performances, being able to troubleshoot and report encountered issues
- Building and maintaining our hardware and equipment including being able to ask for replacements to the management team and/or purchasing new or replacement parts
- Organizing your logistics for travelling between stadiums locations as and when required
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU »
- A strong technical background, ideally in IT or Broadcast
- Ideally with a university degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or with relevant equivalent experience
- Bright and enterprising with excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, responsible attitude and ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision
- Time management skills and ability to work in a high pressure, procedural, live broadcast environment
- Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner with attention to good communication.
- An interest in sport and/or sports analysis, ideally with a good knowledge of football, VAR and the rules of the game
- Experience working with VT/replay technology desirable, or live event / technical production
- High proficiency in English and Russian languages required
- Able to adapt to flexible working conditions with irregular working days including weekends and longer days
- Prepared to travel within Russia and further afield in Europe
