Qatar - Russia ("QR") is set up under the auspices of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation ("Embassy"), with a mission to develop the bilateral business and cultural ties between the two countries.
Investment & Trade ("I&T") is a result-oriented compact team and part of QR, which enables, facilitates and supports proactive development of concrete deals and connections between the Qatari and Russian markets. In this process, the team works closely with the stakeholders of many governmental, commercial and developmental institutions and enterprises in both countries, as well as the Embassy and the rest of QR. The I&T team possesses extensive knowledge of the Russian and Qatari markets, backed by robust analytics, and leverages its experience to cover the full process of business development and investment, ranging from market research, business matchmaking and investment origination to full transactional support for cross-border investment and trade deals. As a result, I&T is the go-to advisor and partner for investments and trade related opportunities concerning the two countries.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Investment Manager or Junior Investment Manager (Associate / Vice President level) to join the I&T team, with a focus on origination, analysis and execution of cross-border investment transactions between Qatar and Russia in the advisory capacity.
This is a rare opportunity to join a busy and growing cross-border investment and advisory focused team under a unique setup and make an impact early on, with ample opportunity for professional development and career advancement.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Analysis of investment opportunities and market research
- Preparation of presentations and memos, and financial modeling
- Communication with investors, advisors, investment targets
- Involvement in deal structuring and negotiations
- Maintenance of investment databases
- Collaboration and joint projects with other QR teams
This is a demanding position which will require significant working hours, as necessary, and will entail periodic travel in Russia and Qatar.
REQUIRED SKILLS
An ideal candidate will be an ambitious go-getter with exceptional business judgment, readiness to roll up sleeves, international exposure and prior investment banking / financial advisory / private equity experience.
Specific requirements include:
? 4+ years of quality experience in investment banking / financial advisory / private equity
? Background in all stages of investment transactions: origination, DD, negotiations & structuring
? A track record of closed deals
? A network of relevant contacts is a plus
? CFA level(s) passed is a plus
? Fluent English is a MUST
? Strong work ethic. Proliferating positive, engaging and humane relationships.
? Advanced skills in investment presentations, financial modeling, valuation, market analysis, risks & mitigants analysis, as well as maturity to negotiate with C-level executives
Applicants should be prepared to perform a test assignment (requiring up to 6 working hours).
