WayRay is a burgeoning deep tech startup with over $100 million of investment and a talented team in offices around the world. At present, WayRay is actively seeking ambitious individuals to join our team of Legal department and help bring the company to the next level.

At present, WayRay is looking for a Legal Counsel who will work closely with handling contractual work and coordinate corporate support of WayRay companies, assisting senior lawyers and contributing to the enhancement of the company’s legal practices.

This role is located in Moscow and reported directly to the Legal Director.

Main Responsibilities

• Reviewing agreements relating to day-to-day activities of WayRay, e.g., purchase, work, and services agreements, and liaising with other departments on contractual work
• Coordinating external advisors supporting WayRay companies outside Russia, including support on corporate issues, renewal of business licenses, insurance, etc.
• Drafting and reviewing local documents, such as General Director orders, company policies, guidelines.
• Responding to inquiries from other departments, e.g., finance, procurement, marketing, design, software development
• Conducting legal researches at the request of other lawyers

Expected Results

1. Tasks for the probation period (3 months)
   • Get familiar with internal agreement approval procedure and learn how to use a software solution (Jira-based workflow) supporting this process
   • Identify legal matters relating to the maintenance of WayRay companies and prepare a schedule of issues to be maintained continuously
   • Suggest improvements to the internal agreement approval procedure
2. General Results
   • Establish robust communication with initiators of agreements and finance team in connection with internal approval of the agreements
   • Reduce time for legal review of the contracts

Required knowledge and skills

• Degree in law or related fields
• 2-4 years of post-qualification experience
• English language at the level of upper-Intermediate
• Experience in contractual work
• Good legal drafting skills
• Experience in corporate and intellectual property issues is a plus
• Both consulting and in-house expertise is a plus
